Heading southwards, you will be flown over Lamu town and along the shores of Lamu Island to the mainland where wildlife abounds amongst palm forests and coastal riverine forest. The plentiful waterholes are popular amongst Buffalo and Hippo, and the grasslands have Waterbuck, Topi, Zebra, Warthog, Giraffe, Hartebeest and a variety of birdlife. In addition to the game, there are small villages of the Orma people, a nomadic tribe who live out the seasons with their cattle.
